100 Privacy Laws and One Solution

In a complex project like Aisland, we had to evaluate the legal framework regarding Privacy around the world.

The result was really worrying because we had found more than 100 privacy laws!

There are even dedicated websites to help you to evaluate the difference of rules.

A decentralised market place like Aisland, has unique challenges because at the certain point the buyer has to supply his/her own data and address for the shipment of physical goods and there is no central authority.

We searched the common ground of all privacy rules and luckily we discovered that Aisland would be perfectly compliant with every country regulation using strong encryption in keeping safe the private data on chain.

Address,phone numbers, email addresses and an other private info is kept encrypted on chain and visible only for the counterparts authorized to see them.

For example the shipment address of the buyer will be visible to the seller but to any other party.

For better accuracy, we published a technical article in the learning section that includes the code used for the encryption and the decryption.
